William “Bill” Roderic Culley

July 31, 2021
Retired `1st Sgt. William “Bill” Roderic Culley, of Republic, Missouri, passed away in the arms of his loving wife, and family by his side, June 29, 2021, at the age of 58 years, 10 months and 16 days.
Bill was born on August 13, 1962, to Charles Roderic “Rod” and Sandra (Larabee) Culley in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Baxter Springs High School in Kansas. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army and honorably served his country for 26 years in the Army and Kansas National Guard, including active duty in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In addition to serving his country, he worked for KMT in Baxter Springs for many years, but his favorite job was with Blue Buffalo Pet Food Company, where he worked for over 10 years, earning the Supply Chain award and the beloved Gold Coin for his 10 years of service.
Bill was blessed with two sons, Tison and Isaac. On April 23, 2014, on the beach he so loved, he married the love of his life, Dedee. Not only did he marry the love of his life, he was also blessed with a daughter, Sarah and a son, Jacob. Bill had a very funny, witty personality… he had many “Bill isms” as they were lovingly referred to. He loved Disney and Steamboat Willie, Harley Davidson motorcycles, windmills, Alabama and its Gulf Shores, a good Irish Whiskey, cars of all kinds ‑ from classic to racing to hot rods – and, most of all his family.
He was preceded in death by his father Rod Culley; step-mother Diana Culley, and his grandparents.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Dedee; children Tison Culley and wife, Isaac Culley, Jacob Culley and Sarah Hansen and husband Jace; grandchildren Leland Chestnutt and Kinley and Hoyt Culley and their mother Ashley; his mother Sandra Bartley and husband Ted, brother Michael “Mike” Culley and wife Tammy, as well as aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and countless friends.
A visitation is scheduled for July 9, from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:30. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m., with full military honors, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
For those wishing to donate to charity rather than flowers, his favorite charities were GYNCA of Springfield and Glioblastoma Support Network where Dedee serves on the board of directors.
