Lloyd Lee Pappan

Retired Sgt. Maj. Lloyd Lee Pappan passed away Sept. 5, 2021, at the age of 79. He was born on Sept. 27, 1941, to Jonsie and Leona (Rausey) Pappan, and was raised by his grandparents, John Keenan and Florence Pappan (Jones) in Kaw City, Oklahoma, where he attended and graduated school.

His career was in law enforcement, beginning with Arkansas Police Department, Kansas Bureau Investigation, and Learjet (later Bombardier). He spent over 25 years in the Kansas Army National Guard. He was proud of his Native American heritage and was involved in Kaw Tribal activities.
He loved Oklahoma University Sooners football and enjoyed fishing.

Pappan was preceded in death by his parents, grandparent, one son, Terry Pappan McClure of Wichita. He is survived by his wife Connie D. of Wichita, sons Gary Pappan McClure ( Lisa) of Winfield, and Kelly Pappan (Lori) of Wichita, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial for Lloyd (Weeham) will be held in the spring in Kaw City, OK on Powwow grounds.
