Maurice Gregoire

Retired Tech. Sgt. Maurice Gregoire, 80, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on Dec. 24, 1939, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, the son of Arthur and Aurore Beaudette Gregoire.

Maurice grew up in Woonsocket and had lived in Lyndon since 1967.

Maurice served in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1966 and was discharged at the rank of airman first class. He then served in the Kansas Air National Guard's 190th ARW Operations GroupAircrew Life Support at Forbes Field for 20 years and retired in 1986 as technical sergeant.

He worked for Goodyear for several years as a tire builder and delivered Wichita, Kansas City and Topeka newspapers for several years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #125, the V.F.W. #6406 and the Euclid Lodge #101 A.F. & A.M., all in Lyndon. He was a member of several men's Bible studies and belonged to Lyon and Osage County Ham Radio Clubs.

On July 28, 1962, Maurice was united in marriage to Martha Fitts in Topeka. To this union three children were born, Michael, Marcus and Michelle.

Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Aurore; and two brothers, Joseph Gregoire and wife Maxine, and Roland Gregoire.

Maurice is survived by his wife, Martha of 58 years; his two sons, Michael Gregoire and wife Deborah Lee of Roswell, Georgia and Marcus Gregoire and wife Deb of Bristow, Virginia; his daughter, Michelle Gregoire of Lyndon; his two brothers, Andre Gregoire and wife Linda of Narragansett, Rhode Island and Emile Gregoire of West Warwick, Rhode Island; a sister-in-law, Elinda Gregoire and his seven grandchildren, Andre (Jenna) Gregoire, Alexander Gregoire, Ian Lee Gregoire, Colin Lee Gregoire, Audrey Gregoire, Betty Gregoire and Cavya Gregoire.

Maurice was cremated and a celebration of life will be held in the spring or summer of 2021. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Help House, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
