Michael H. Guyett

Retired Master Sgt. Michael H. Guyett, 64, of Princeton, Kansas, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020, at AdventHealth Ottawa.

Private family graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Due to the current restrictions associated with COVID-19 a celebration of Michaels life will be held later.

Michael was born Dec. 23, 1955, in Ottawa, the son of Herbert F. and Hazel Marie (Schmoe) Guyett.

He was a lifelong Ottawa resident, graduating from Ottawa High School with the class of 1973. Michael continued his education at Pittsburg State University in the automotive program.

On Jan. 12, 1980, Michael was united in marriage to Cynthia Marie Jones. She preceded him in death on Sept. 1, 2016.

He was also preceded in death by his father, Herb Guyett.

Survivors include his four children, Jolene LaMar and husband Kyle of Ottawa Jacob Guyett and wife Kendra of Princeton Jared Guyett also of Princeton and Joshua Guyett of Ottawa; mother, Hazel Guyett of Ottawa; five siblings, Jeff Guyett of Ottawa, Trinity Guyett and wife Shawna of Colorado, Cathy Bien and husband Dave of Ottawa, Lynda Topp and husband Mike of Richmond, and Scarlett Guyett of Gardner; and nine grandchildren.

Michael was employed with the Kansas Army National Guard for nearly 40 years, retiring in 2014.

Michael adored his family and grandchildren, always attending every activity. He also enjoyed Friday snack day with his grandchildren.
