Byron D. "Tom" Morgan

Glade, Kansas, resident, retired Sgt. 1st Class Byron D. Tom Morgan, age 79, passed away Dec. 24, 2018, at his home. He was born March 20, 1939 in Glade, the son of Byron Barney and Etta (Spicer) Morgan. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the Kansas National Guard. Morgan was united in marriage to Lela M. Bennett on Dec. 8, 1959, in Oxnard, California. She survives. Morgan was a member of both the Kansas Army National Guards 170th Maintenance Company and the 995th Maintenance Company. Other survivors include his three daughters, Brenda Chance of Phillipsburg, Carla Bruning of Glade and Diana Gross of McCook, Nebraska; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Phillips County Healthcare Foundation.
