Billy G. Sloan, age 79, Topeka, passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital. Billy was born Sept. 10, 1939, in Kentucky. He served two tours in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam and later served with the Air National Guard in the 190th Air Refueling Wing for over 31 years. He married Shirley Ann Smotherman July 15, 1963. She preceded him in death Nov. 16, 2003. Billy is survived by a son, Michael and his wife DeAnn Sloan of Topeka and two granddaughters, Nicole and Kaitlyn Sloan. Billy enjoyed fishing, woodworking and traveling. He was a past member of the Kaw Valley Wood Carvers. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the Davidson Funeral Home.
