Ricky Larry Gonzales

  Staff Sgt. Ricky Larry Gonzales, 32, of Holton, Kansas, died Sept. 5, 2018, at St. Joseph, Missouri. He was born September 27, 1985, in Hays, Kansas, the son of Julian H. and Vicky (Werth) Gonzales. He grew up in Victoria and Russell. Gonzales was a delivery driver for the Mission Critical Home Health Supplies of Topeka. He was a staff sergeant with the Kansas National Guards 137th Transportation Company, Olathe. He enlisted in 2003 and served on two tours to Iraq and one to Hurricane Katrina. Gonzales was a 2004 graduate of Russell High School, a member of the Russell V.F.W. and attended St. Marys Queen of Angels Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing Texas Holdem, the military, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his mother, Vicky Gonzales, Russell, Kansas; his extended family, Jaydyn McCorkle, Manhattan, Kansas; his companion, Melanie Belshe, Holton, Kansas; two brothers, Nathaniel Rollett and wife, Sarah, St. Joseph, Missouri; Ross Gonzales and fiance, Harley Smith, Russell, Kansas; one sister, Randalynn Ehrlich and husband, Bryan, Russell, Kansas; his grandmothers, Mary Karlin, Dallas, Texas; Doris Werth, Victoria, Kansas; two uncles, Mark Sepeda and wife Sue, Port Orchard Washington; Austin Sepeda and wife, Kari, Peoria, Arizona; two aunts, Rose Rodriguez, Dallas Texas; Judy VonFeldt and husband, Dale, Olathe, Kansas; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father; one uncle, Ricky Gonzales; one nephew, Brody Ehrlich; his grandparents, Al Karlin and Kenny Werth. Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at St. Marys Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Russell, Kansas. Burial in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Russell, with military honors by the Russell V.F. W. and the Kansas National Guard. A vigil service and rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday, at Clines-Keithley Mortuary, 412 Main Street, Victoria, Kansas. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Clines-Keithley Mortuary, Victoria, Kansas and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Marys Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Russell.
