Glen R. Ruta

Retired Spc. Glen R. Ruta, 55, of Hutchinson, died July 30, 2018, at his home from natural causes. He was born April 16, 1963, in Fulton, New York, to Adolf and Emma Jean (Warner) Ruta. Glen graduated from high school in Fulton and attended Auburn Community College. Upon completion of basic training in the United States Army, he served in the National Guard for 22 years until being honorably discharged. Glen held a variety of jobs over the years, including truck driving and construction. He loved animals and was of the Methodist faith. Glen is survived by: father, Al, Hutchinson; brother, Clark and wife Barb, Hutchinson; sister, Pat McGhan and husband Roger, Cadillac, MI; aunt, Frances Burnett, Arlington, KS; nephews, Nick and Dan Stuber; niece, Molly Stuber; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by: mother, Jean Ruta; baby brother, Adolf; numerous aunts and uncles. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2018, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Jeff Goetzinger officiating. Military honors will be conducted. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
