Retired Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert A. Smith, 73, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018, in Dallas. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. July 19, 2018, at Texas State Veterans Cemetery, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home. Born November 15, 1944 in Topeka, Kansas, Bob was a son of the late Robert E. and Hazel (Lowry) Smith. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 after 34 years of service. Bob married Deborah Roberts March 13, 1992 in Topeka, Kansas. They later retired and moved to Hawley, Texas, in 2010, where they enjoyed living the country life and raising goats. Survivors include his wife, Deborah Smith of Hawley; three sons, Eric Smith (and wife, Kristan) of Topeka, Kansas, James Anderson (and wife,Kaley) of Topeka, Kansas, and Aaron Anderson of Hawley; two daughters, Machelle Stahlecker (and husband, David) of Topeka, Kansas, and Dione Jacques of Liberty, Missouri; one brother, Randy Smith of Topeka, Kansas; one sister, Marcia Moore (and husband, Garry) of Topeka, Kansas; and nine grandchildren.
