Retired Staff Sgt. Kelly McCormack

Retired Staff Sgt. Kelly "Mack" McCormack, age 55 , of Bolivar passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Mercy Hospital after a short illness. Kelly was born January 22, 1963 in Springfield, MO to Roy and Louise McCormack. He was a 1981 graduate of Hillcrest High School. Kelly retired from the United States Army after over twenty years of service.. He served with the 1st Battalion, 137th Field Artillery in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom with his bomb dog Ringo, who lived with Kelly after his retirement. Kelly enjoyed fishing and spending time on his farm. Survivors include his two loving daughters, Jessica Hawkins and husband Brian, Ozark and Kathrine "Katie" McCormack, Springfield; One grandson, Julian Hawkins; mother of Jessica and Katie, Cindy McCormack, Fair Grove; four sisters, Mary, Jody, Wendy, and Kathy; one brother, Robin; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Louise McCormack. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Kelly McCormack Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
