Retired Master Sgt. Raymond L. Bell

Retired Master Sgt. Raymond Leo Bell, 86, Topeka, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018. He was born September 10, 1931, in Ogden, Kansas, the son of James Bell, Sr. and Bessie (Eaton) Bell Patrick. He graduated from Manhattan High School in 1952 and obtained his Bachelor's degree from the GI Bill. Raymond joined the Kansas National Guard in 1948 and retired in 1987 as Master Sergeant after 39 years of service. He was a member of the Orient Lodge No. 51 A.F. & A.M., Moose Lodge and American Legion. On February 21, 1952, he married Shirley Sutton. They later divorced. Raymond is survived by two children: Tracy Bell, Topeka and Vickie (Bob) Winney, WY; one brother: James (Elaine) Bell, CO; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Ramie Bell, brother, Charles Bell and one niece and nephew. Raymond loved the water and taught his family to love the water. He enjoyed water skiing and dancing. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2018 at Ogden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Tracy Bell c/o the funeral home, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS 66608, to help for the care of Ray's great-granddaughter.
