By Staff Sgt. Mark Nussbaumer Public Affairs Office Sgt. 1st Class Brandon Jennings has earned the Enlisted Association National Guard of Kansas Outstanding Guardsman award on May 4. He was presented the award in front of his unit and family by Troy Able, a representative of the EANGKS. The Enlisted Association of the National Guard of Kansas Awards Program is designed to recognize individuals who, by superior performance, acts of heroism or service of a meritorious nature, make a contribution to the goals of the Association, to the purpose and effectiveness of the National Guard or to the stability and security of the state of Kansas and the United States. Jennings was put in for the award by the senior enlisted leader, Command Sgt. Maj. Ricky Matticks, who cited Jennings for his hard work and dedication to the unit, and for performing many duties that were not directly related to his current position. "In the absence of a Family Readiness Leader, Sergeant First Class Jennings organized three Christmas/Holiday dinners for Soldiers and their families and two family day picnics," Matticks explained. "He is always willing to volunteer personal time to willingly assist Soldiers and their families, enhancing the welfare and safety of the Soldiers, their families, and the unit."
