International chaplains discuss ways to reach their common goals

Jan. 14, 2022 | By Bailey Hittle
During the training, the State Partnership Program and command chaplains from USEUCOM and U.S. Army Europe and Africa shared approaches to build upon their collective ideas. Williams and Mundy attended the event with the intent to meet members of their U.S. and international chaplaincy teams and learn new ways to combine efforts to foster enduring relationships and focus on strategic partnerships.

“Meeting so many different chaplains and dignitaries from other countries was amazing,” said Mundy, “knowing that, though we may be from different cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs, we all had the common goal of serving our fellow Soldiers in achieving spiritual strength.”

“This is a really new initiative USEUCOM has introduced to the State Partnership Programs and our affiliated ministry teams within the state,” said Lt. Col. Amy Hill, director of the State Partnership Program. “The Kansas National Guard Religious Affairs team didn't waste any time in raising their hands to support the cause.”

Through the State Partnership Program, the Kansas National Guard has partnered with the Republic of Armenia since 2002. Over the years, Kansas and Armenia have actively participated in many multinational knowledge exchanges and exercises overseas and within the United States.
