Eric Lee Frye

Eric Lee Frye, age 46, passed away with his family by his side July 31 2021, at Texas Harris Health hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.
He was born Nov 14, 1974, to Joyce Kay Frye and Tommy Robert Mansfield. He graduated from Topeka public schools in 1994 and married Teresa Frye in April 2000.
He proudly joined the Kansas Air National Guard in 1998 and served with 190^th Air Refueling Wing, Resource Management Squadron, from 1998-2004.
He then moved to Vancouver, Washington, where he was with the 939th Air Refueling Wing in Portland, Oregon, from 2004-2006. From there he went to Layton, Utah, where he served with the 419^th Fighter Wing at Hill AFB from2006-2008.
He finished his military career with the 446^th Maintenance Squadron fuel shop at McChord Field, Fort Lewis, Washington from 2008-2020. He retired after 22 years of service in February 2020. He continued his fuel systems career with STS Aviation, moving to Minnesota, and then finally to Texas.
Eric spent all of his free time with his family and friends. Most evenings he could be found on the sidelines coaching various sports. He enjoyed helping others. He was a genuinely great guy. Those that knew him were blessed to have him in their lives.
Eric is survived by his parents Joyce Frye and Tommy Mansfield; his wife Teresa Frye; children Anastasia Becerra, Alexa Perry, Jason Frye, and Cody Frye; grandchildren Michael Becerra, Elliot Becerra, Sydonie Becerra, Manolo Becerra, Sophia Perry, and Charlotte Perry; and siblings Bobbi Doss, Tommy Jr., Jeremy Mansfield, Christie Ziegler, and Jarod Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Ezra Bloomquist.
Family and friends are welcome to join us celebrate his life Aug. 30 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. at Shelter house #3, 3916 SE Memory Point, Topeka.
