Bill Allen Stull

Retired Maj. Bill Allen Stull, 70, of Hutchinson, died Nov. 22, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, after a long battle with COPD. He was born June 5, 1950, in Hutchinson, to Howard and Charity (Scholtisseck) Stull.

Bill graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1968, and then from Regents College. He served in the Kansas Army National Guard's 35th Division Artillery and later in the United States Army Reserve, retiring as a major. Bill worked for the BNSF Railroad as a machine operator for over 40 years. He was a member of VFW Post 906 and American Legion Lysle Rishel Post 68. Bill was interested in ancestry, history, and politics. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who will be missed by his family dearly.

On July 30, 1977, Bill married Margaret Wilson in Wichita. They shared 43 years together.

He is survived by: wife, Margaret Stull, Hutchinson; sons, Roger Stull, Hutchinson, Rodney Stull, Kansas City, Missouri, Robert Stull (Jackie), Wichita; daughter, Rebecca Rivera (Maurice), Hutchinson; grandchildren, Dominic, Sabrina, and Isabella Rivera, Hutchinson; sisters, Jane Hawks (Sidney), Mount Juliet, Tennessee, Sue Cone, Farmington, Arkansas; nieces, Angela Simon, Arkansas, Joanie Trout, Tennessee;  nephew, Josh Hawks, Tennessee; and many other family members.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Stephen Hawks.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Elliott Mortuary, with the Rev. Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Military honors will be conducted by the Kansas Army National Guard Honor Guard. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29 and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30 at Elliott Mortuary.
