Retired Sgt. Ralph L. Atzbach, 76, of Iola, Kansas, passed away on Dec. 20, 2018, at the Life Care Center, Burlington, Kansas. Ralph was born on Sept. 3, 1942, in Iola, Kansas, to Henry Atzbach and Mary (Madison) Atzbach. Ralph married Deloris Walters Aug. 30, 1968, in Iola, Kansas. Deloris preceded him in death Aug 13, 2003. Atzbach attended school in Iola. He worked for Haldex for 22 years, retiring in 2011. He served his country in the Kansas Army National Guard for 38 years as a member of the 891st Engineer Battalion. Atzbach enjoyed living life to the fullest. He loved to joke, was the peacekeeper, fished, bowled and shot pool. Atzbach is remembered as a hard worker, sometimes working two or three jobs to support his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris; his parents; one daughter, Kasondra Berry; one brother, Albert Atzbach; and one sister, Clara Stewart Atzbach is survived by one son, James Atzbach and wife, Debby, Colony, Kansas; one daughter, Tonya Dobbs, New Strawn, Kansas; one brother, Harold Atzbach, Claremore, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Aaron Atzbach and wife, Sarah, Dodge City, Kansas, Ashley Atzbach, Colony, Kansas; Bryce Atzbach, Colony, Kansas, Tori Harper and husband, David, Iola, Kansas, Paige Riley, Iola, Kansas, Tyler Atzbach, Fort Scott, Kansas, Shae Dobbs, Topeka, Kansas, Tyler Dobbs, Hutchinson, Kansas, and Leslie Dobbs, Riverton, Kansas; great-grandchildren, Aleister Stillings and Phoebe Stillings, Colony, Kansas, Liam Atzbach, Dodge City, Kansas, Kalani Cumplido, Colony, Kansas, and Camden Clark, Humboldt, Kansas; a special companion, Sheryl Ponder, Iola, Kansas; and numerous other relatives.
