By 1st Lt. Lauren Orr 105th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment Col. Dave Johnson relinquished command of the Kansas Army National Guard's 69th Troop Command to Lt. Col. Michelle Hannah during a change of command ceremony Sept. 8 at the Museum of the Kansas National Guard in Topeka. During the ceremony, Brig. Gen. Anthony Mohatt, commander of the Kansas Army National Guard, awarded Johnson the Meritorious Service Ribbon for his service as brigade commander.
] 'I'm just so thankful for what you've done for the state,' said Mohatt. 'Your service for the last 32 years will be remembered. I feel very fortunate, and I know each one of the Soldiers that you've served with and that you've mentored throughout the years are glad to have had you as a mentor.' During his farewell speech, Johnson commented on the readiness and adaptability of the 69
th TC. "The Soldiers of the brigade stand before us today, ready to undertake any mission given to them," said Johnson. "They understand that they must grow the organization, while generating lethality and readiness." He also took time to welcome Hannah and offer his support. 'Lieutenant Colonel Hannah, congratulations on your new assignment,' said Johnson. 'I appreciate you seeking out my mentorship and guidance.
