Retired Sgt. Maj. Richard L. Kelley

Retired Sgt. Maj. Richard L. Kelley, age 69, of Sunrise Beach, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. He is survived by his family. Wife, children, grandsons, step-sons, step-grandsons, sister, brother and nephews. He was veteran of the United States Marine Corps and retired from the Army Reserves. He served in Vietnam, Desert Storm, Bosnia and Iraq. Kelley's spent many years at the 35th ID in the G2 shop. Dicks civilian career was spent working in telecommunications and information technology. He retired in 2011 after forty years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Zack Wheat Post 624 in Sunrise Beach, the Lake of the Ozarks Marine Corps League Detachment #1137 and the VFW Post 5923 in Camdenton. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 12, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel with Pastor Kelly Caldwell officiating. Full military honors will follow the service under the auspices of the American Legion Zack Wheat Post 624 and the Lake of the Ozarks Marine Corps League Detachment #1137. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Marine Corps League.
