Dennis Lee Keehn

Dennis Lee Keehn, 53, of Topeka passed away October 22, 2017 at Stormont Vail Hospital. He was born April 25, 1964 in Onaga, KS the son of Frederick and Barbara (Armbruster) Keehn. He graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1982. He served in the Army National Guard for six years. He co-owned a successful cleaning business, City Wide Janitorial Supply in Topeka. However, his real passion was for the City of Topeka Police Department where he worked from 1989 until his retirement in September 23, 2017. During this time Dennis made himself available to help friends in need. Survivors include his father, Fritz (Rose) Keehn of Soldier; a son, Joshua Keehn and his wife, Amber Keehn and grandson, Zachary Keehn, all of Evans, GA; three brothers, Thad (Tanya) Keehn of Wichita, KS, Gary (Megan) Keehn of Soldier, KS, Marvin (Deanie) Keehn of Gardner, KS; a sister, Annette "Sissy" (Jay) Searles of Holton, KS; and close friend, Stephanie Trujillo of Topeka, KS; several nieces and nephews; and his canine companions. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Keehn. Dennis enjoyed bowling, baseball, softball, playing pool, golf, the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. Dennis will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, where the family will receive friends from6:00 - 8:00 p.m.Cremation will follow the visitation. Private family inurnment will be at Soldier Cemetery, Soldier, KS.
