MSgt (R) Kenneth Wayne “Jake” Elliott, 70, Tecumseh, passed away October 20, 2017.
Kenneth was born January 8, 1947, in Hutchinson, the son of Henry and Vera Slifer Elliott. He graduated from Nickerson High School in 1965. On July 25, 1965, Kenneth married Nancy Horner in South Hutchinson United Methodist Church. They celebrated 52 wonderful years together.
Kenneth, or Jake as all his friends called him, worked for the 190th Air Refueling Wing at Forbes Field, with a tour in Desert Shield and active duty trips all over the world. He retired from the Kansas Air National Guard on December 31, 1991, with 41 years of combined service and the rank of Master Sergeant. After retirement, he worked as a contract employee for Raytheon Aerospace Field Team until 1996.
Kenneth was a member of the Meriden Antique Engine and Threshers Association, the International Tractor Association #3 Powers of The Past, Kansas Air National Guard Museum and Combat Air Museum and was a Friend of Bill.
Kenneth enjoyed farming and had a huge love and compassion for animals, especially his dog, Jesse. His real love was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Jeff Elliott and Jennifer Bowman (Brandon); grandchildren, Bret and Elliott Bowman, Lyndi Dixon (Tim) and Caitlyn Elliott; great-grandchildren, Kolbee Dixon and Connor Elliott; and sisters, Joyce Dyson (Ron) and Rita Wildin (Jerry). He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Sidney.
Celebration of Kenneth’s life is pending.
